About THE NETWORK
Growing Together PASadena is a network of sites coordinated by the City of Pasadena's Office of the Young Child. These sites serve as locations for families with children ages zero to five to access services and the support they need to flourish, with a specific focus on school readiness.

All sites offer a welcoming space for children and their families, individualized resources and referrals, parenting support, and opportunities for children to grow in the five key developmental areas defined by the Early Development Instrument (EDI).
How IT WAS DEVELOPED
In 2013 the City and the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) teamed with UCLA Center for Healthier Children, Families and Communities to introduce a measure of children’s developmental progress at age 5. The Early Developmental Index (EDI) is a tool used to capture data about children’s outcomes across 5 developmental domains including physical health and wellbeing, social competence, emotional maturity, language and cognitive skills, communication skills and general knowledge.
