Locations OF OUR SITES

Growing Together PASadena sites will be hosted by well-established community organizations that presently serve families with young children in Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre.

 

Our sites are (in alphabetical order) Altadena Library District Families Forward Learning Center, La Pintoresca Branch Library, Pacific Clinics Early Head Start-Nesbitt Site, Sierra Madre Public Library, and Villa Parke Community Center and Public Library.

Altadena Library DISTRICT

The Altadena Library District, consisting of the Main Library and Bob Lucas Branch, provides library services people in Altadena and northern Pasadena. From story times in English and Spanish, to educational parent events, to interactive reading programs with incentives for families, the Altadena Libraries' Children's Department wants to connect you and your children to key early literacy skills and the joy of reading!

Families Forward LEARNING CENTER

Families Forward Learning Center, formerly known as Mothers’ Club, is a non-profit organization that provides free education and social services to low-income families in Pasadena and Altadena with children from birth to five years old. All of our services are based on a two-generation learning model that empowers both parents and children to gain knowledge and skills that improve outcomes for the whole family.

La Pintoresca BRANCH LIBRARY

La Pintoresca (“the picturesque”) Branch Library of the Pasadena Public Library system was named for the hotel which had previously occupied its northwest Pasadena site. La Pintoresca Branch Library serves as a library and community center, providing local residents with a welcoming, informal meeting place. Families with young children can enjoy a robust children's collection, story times in English and Spanish, and more.

PacificClinics

Pacific Clinics HEAD START NESBITT SITE

Pacific Clinics' Head Start/Early Head Start program is designed to meet the educational, social-emotional, health and nutritional needs for children and families. Children 0-5 years of age can be registered at any time in the school year. The program is free for those who qualify (must meet eligibility requirements).

Sierra Madre PUBLIC LIBRARY

Sierra Madre Public Library serves its youngest residents of Sierra Madre with a variety of interactive children's programs and resources including story times, annual parent workshops, booklists for kids, and play times. The annual "1-2-3 Play with Me!" Parent/Child Workshop includes toys, crafts, books and play, in addition to discussions of parenting issues and concerns.

VillaParke

Villa Parke COMMUNITY CENTER LIBRARY

The Villa Parke Community Center Branch of the Pasadena Public Library system offers a collection of over 12,800 items and weekly story times for preschool children and their caregivers. This library, housed on the second floor of the Villa Parke Community Center, is the Pasadena Public Library’s newest information outlet.
