Learning, Growing, and Leading at levelUP3!

July 18 & 19, 2019

Thank You All!

We are thrilled to announce that 2019's LevelUP3 was a resounding success. We had over 120 students from 36 area schools register and we were able to provide workshops, resource fairs, lots of good food and new friendships.

The event was hosted, this year, at Pacific Oaks College which provided us with fantastic state of the art rooms with very flexible configurations that suited our workshop needs. We also benefited from the air-conditioning!

This year's program features a keynote speech from PHS and College Access Plan alum and current Stanford Student, Michael Ocon. Pasadena Police Chief John Perez helped us close out Thursday by talking about the role of the police in our community, his vision and his responsibility for the department. He stayed and answered any and all the questions the students had.

We had fantastic workshops to provide our students created and led by: Rhiann Joshua (Work Skills), Desiree Reynolds (Relationships), Michael Royer (online security and scams), Theresa Montes-Montalvo (Healing Through Art), Horizon Line, A Compassion Play from Western Justice Center, and the return  of Bite of Reality from the Pasadena Service Federal Credit Union. We even had something for parents, a coffee and workshop courtesy of our partners at Young & Healthy that focused on brain development and youth.

In addition to the workshops, students were able to attend resource fairs during lunch. Thursday's fair featured representatives from over 20 colleges and universities, while Friday's featured information tables from our local youth servicing partners and non-profits.

What would a conference be without good food!? Thanks to generosity of Chapala Bakery, Stonefire Grill, Tournament of RosesCouncilmember John Kennedy, the Pasadena Police Department, Pacific Oaks CollegeCollege Access Plan, and DayOne we had that covered!

The LevelUP Youth Leadership Conference is organized and run by the Pasadena Youth Leadership Network, a consortium of local civic and non-profit agencies:
