About United Against Hate
Week

National Movement

United Against Hate Week began in 2017 when Bay Area city leaders sought to provide a safe, visible way for residents to respond to hate groups following the violence in Charlottesville, VA. Since launching in 2018, it has spread to over 240 communities nationwide.

Pasadena's Initiative

Since 2022, the Western Justice Center and City of Pasadena Human Relations Commission have partnered to bring United Against Hate Week to our community. Each year, participation has grown, bringing together diverse organizations and residents across Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley.

Pasadena's United Against Hate Week is organized in conjunction with "LA vs. HATE," a program of the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission that encourages communities throughout LA County to participate in United Against Hate Week.
